- Aims
Welcome to the Westwood F.C website!
Westwood F.C was formed in 2004, with an aim to provide talented local footballers with the opportunity to compete at a good level of football. Some of the players who are playing for Westwood F.C have also played under Shahjalal Unity who have been established since 1989. Westwood F.C hope to bring together the number of 7-a side teams across Oldham into a full squad which will enable them to compete in the local 11-a side Glyn Webb Sunday league. Within the team there are a number of players who have played at a semi-professional level and also particularly our young star Nuruz who has signed for Oldham Athletics.
The experience within the team varies from ages 14 up to 35, and a number of players have competed in a 10-week tour of Bangladesh, and also at the UK Asian football championship organised by SASA (Scottish Asian Sports Association).

RESULT:09/09/07 OSLDIV2 northstar 0 V 5 WESTWOOD FC
a comfortable win to say the least, as expected WFC dominated the match. with a five man midfield lead by captain Rasel; lone striker mokhlis was well supported in attack, with the opposition working overtime in defence. goalkeeper (jamie) was a virtual spectator with only on shot to save. the defence was very stubborn and did not let the oppostion strikers play to their potential. goals from R Hussain(2), U Dafe(1), S Uddin(1), AL - Amin(1) gave WFC a second successive win.
Man of the Match: Rasel Hussain
RESULT: 02/09/07 OSLDIV2 WESTWOOD FC 12 - 0 manor.
it was a dream start to the season, with goals galore. it was a dominant display with WFC playing their best football to date. With key players missing, and only 2 substitutes. players like AKHTAR, GOFFAR, ALA, and ISMAIL did not dissapoint. Goals from A Goffar(5), I Alam(2), M Rahman(3), R Hussain(1), AL- Amin(1) sealed an emphatic and record breaking win.
Man of the Match: Abdul Goffar
